Tax on investments, inheritance and wealth

Grenada taxes residents only on Grenada-source income. There is no capital gains tax, no tax on dividends received by residents, and no inheritance, gift or net wealth tax, so a portfolio of foreign shares and bonds is effectively untaxed locally. Costs arise on Grenadian real estate (transfer tax up to 15%, 10% alien landholding licence). No treaty relief exists for US/EU withholding taxes.

Income tax for employees and remote workers

Income tax is 10% on the first XCD 24,000 and 28% above, after a XCD 36,000 personal allowance, and Deloitte states that residents are taxed only on income derived from Grenada. Employees pay 6.25% NIS up to XCD 5,000 a month.

How to get residence

No free movement for anyone. Grenada citizenship costs USD 235,000 (National Transformation Fund, single applicant up to a family of four) or USD 270,000-350,000 in approved real estate, plus about USD 9,000 of application, due diligence, processing and interview fees. Grenada citizens can reportedly apply for the US E-2 treaty investor visa, the programme's main selling point; the programme is under an independent review announced 22 September 2026. Ordinary residence routes could not be sourced.

Inheritance law and trusts

Grenada follows English-derived common law and no forced heirship was found. The International Trusts Act (1996) was amended in 2018 to stop new international trusts after 31 December 2018. No private foundation law was found and the Hague Trusts Convention is not in force.
