Tax on investments, inheritance and wealth

Armenia taxes residents on worldwide income at a flat 20%, but income from the sale of shares and other investment securities is exempt for individuals, and dividends are taxed at 5%. Inheritances and gifts received from individuals are exempt from income tax, and there is no wealth tax (only annual property tax on real estate and vehicles). Corporate tax 18%. Medium-to-low confidence: the securities exemption comes from a 2023 KPMG summary and was not checked against the current Tax Code.

Inheritance law and trusts

Minor children, disabled children, a disabled spouse, parents and dependants are guaranteed at least half of what they would inherit by law, whatever the will says. The sources do not settle whether a foreign resident can choose their own national law. Armenia has no common-law trust and the Hague Trusts Convention is not in force there; foundations exist but are set up for public-benefit purposes.
